I got my mother's day gift from Heather on Friday evening. She gave me a sweet card and a rose. :)
On Sunday, my Mom, Sister, Grandma and I all went down to Kaysville to visit my GREAT-Grandma (who is 100 years old)! It was a good trip, and I'm really glad that we all got to spend some time together. I think the visit was important for everybody.
Afterwards, I went on a bike ride with Craig & Kelly. We went out to the Legacy Nature Trail that runs along side the Legacy Parkway (a new highway from Farmington to Salt Lake City). We didn't ride the entire length of the trail since it was already late in the day, but we did ride about six and a half miles. It's a pretty simple trail that runs through the wetlands and next to a nature preserve. We saw a few ducks, a lot of Kill-Deer (birds), a snake, and smelled (but didn't see) a skunk. It was a blast! As usual, my butt-bones are sore from the seat, but well worth it.

If I bring the girls' bikes, do you think this would be a good family ride for us while we're there? (ie. flat, paved or good solid dirt, no vehicles on the trail, few road crossings...etc.)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful Mother's Day! :)
Yes, VERY family friendly environment. All but one of the road crossings are by tunnel or by bridge. You can choose the paved side of the trail, or cross onto the other side where it's a dirt trail. No motorized vehicles allowed on the trail at all. It does run parallel to the highway, but at a safe distance away. It think it would be a great ride for y'all.
